Racine assists Financière Arbevel in structuring its latest private debt fund

Paris, 22 February 2024 – Racine has participated in the structuring of the “Arbevel Dette Privée PME II” fund, launched in June 2023. This fund strengthens Financière Arbevel’s positions in private debt following the closing of a first vehicle in 2021.

Racine acted for Financière Arbevel in structuring its “Arbevel Dette Privée PME II” fund, launched in June 2023. Arbevel is thus consolidating its presence in private debt following the success of the closing of its first vehicle in 2021.

Arbevel is an entrepreneurial asset management company with €2.3 billion in assets under management and almost 50 employees working in three areas of expertise: management of listed funds, discretionary management and private assets. Arbevel’s mission is to work with companies over the long term to finance their growth through a wide range of investment strategies: listed equities (all capitalisations in France and internationally), bonds (investment grade & high yield), private equity dedicated to the healthcare sector and private debt. Arbevel is characterised by its entrepreneurial DNA and its expertise in a number of sectors (technology, healthcare, sustainable development, blockchain, etc.).

Financière Arbevel’s latest vehicle, “Arbevel Dette privée PME II”, reached an initial closing of €35 million in December 2023, with a target of €100 million by the end of 2024. This vehicle is dedicated in particular to small and lower mid-caps, and focuses on direct lending and on increasing the proportion of transactions with sponsors. Invested amounts will range from €2m to €7.5m, mainly in senior debt, and the Fonds Professionnel Spécialisé (FPS) will comprise around twenty portfolio companies across all sectors. Two years after the launch of its first vehicle, Arbevel Dette Privée PME, which reached €82m in February 2021, Arbevel is consolidating its presence in the private debt segment. The fund has already invested €4m in SoMeD Santé, a leading multidisciplinary healthcare center.

The financing of the fund benefits from the European Union support programme through the InvestEU guarantee of the EIF (European Investment Fund).

Racine acted with a team comprising Rima Maitrehenry (partner) and Hugo Legendre (associate) on the structuring of the fund.
